Rainwater Harvesting

Use the rainwater that falls on your roof to water your landscape.

Because of the severity of the current drought in North Carolina, there has been much discussion of implementing water conservation measures. One way to conserve, but still be able to maintain your landscape is through rainwater harvesting. This process can be done by collecting water from the area of your roof.
This idea of collecting water from your roof is a simple and environmental conscientious way to conserve water, minimize runoff from your property, as well as water and maintain your landscape.
The water can be piped and filtered into above ground or below ground cistern tanks. This stored water may possibly be connected to existing irrigation systems or connected to spigots for hose pipe use.
